(Tired baseball dad) Dave here…
I love getting emails most times.
Andre and one of our launch partners asked me about “proof elements” to help the launch.
And then I got one of those doozy emails…
Now, the United States Federal Trade Commission *hates* proof elements and testimonials.
They are 100% worried about the consumer and they don’t like any advertiser or product owner making misleading claims.
I get that.
So before I show you a picture let me say this — RESULTS ARE NOT TYPICAL.
I am not a lawyer and this isn’t legalese.
Let’s face it….
You and I have different DNA.
We approach marketing in different ways.
We have different interests, cash flow concerns, family concerns, and life experiences.
When you apply FBA Fast Track…
(And sadly this should be *if* you apply it since something like 98.95478% of all people into internet marketing don’t seem to ever get started with something before the next shiny object comes by.)
… your results will be DIFFERENT than mine. There are no typical results.
Actually, scratch that…
The typical result is $0. Or a number less than zero. I don’t know.
What I do know is that a shit-load of people are successful selling products on Amazon.
They hustle and work their ass off.
(Magically these are the same people who can make affiliate marketing, email copy, and all other sorts of “IM” activities work. Go figure.)
I hope to God you are one of those people.
If not, maybe you will be soon.
My advice, TAKE ACTION.
Ignore shining object.
EVEN THIS ONE if you’re already knee deep into another business model.
(It’s ok, we’ll still be here if and when you’re ready.)
Are we OK? … Good.
So here was the doozy of an email:
“Dave, is this Amazon stuff for real? Can you make real money doing this?”
The thing is, I have no idea how to respond to this other than to say “yes”…
Ignoring the fact that my definition of “real” money and yours may be different.
The reality is that just about any online business model can work…
Email Marketing? — check!
Affiliate Presell Pages? — check!
Facebook Social Marketing? — check!
Black Hat Paid Traffic? — check!
E-Commerce? – check!
But just because they *can* work for someone doesn’t mean it will work for *you*.
You know, the whole “your mileage may vary” thing…
So how well can FBA Fast Track work?
Let me give you two examples.
Different businesses, same basic business model for each.
(The one you’ll be learning in FBA Fast Track.)
Here’s the first one…
This is in the health/wellness markets and is tracking some celebrity endorsements and the like.
There are a couple of different products in this account and no single product is killing it.
In fact, the collection isn’t killing it either. But it’s an engine that keeps on churning out cash.
Margins are great and promotion (traffic) costs are pretty low.
You can see I relied a little too heavily on Amazon search the past month or two and it’s starting to catch up.
Thankfully, the products in this market pick up in May/June and a small increase in promotion costs bump sales back to previous levels, plus some.
But not everything is roses…
(It never is, which is part of the fundamental nature of business in general.)
Here’s a statement from the Holiday season when we launched a new product and never quite got the sourcing and scaling to work out…
Promotion costs were fixed and basically zero on this but you can see that Amazon chewed up most of my gross sales.
In our defense this was a new product and company launch and this was basically our seed stock.
So we proved that we could move product and we learned that without better packaging and sourcing we’re only slightly better than break even.
Now, MAKING two grand to LEARN is a cool thing…
Usually you’re happy just breaking even.
And while this is mortgage type money, it isn’t “change your life” type money.
But it’s more than a start…
It’s a clear indication that as we clean up our quality control and supply chain we’ll be fine with this little business.
Again, YOUR RESULTS WILL VARY…
And there’s no magic here.
It’s all FBA Fast Track and the basics of any FBA type business.
Personally, we think you can do this.
Hell, you can probably kick my ass (and I hope you do).
